Plan Summary
The Belmont Retirement System is a Massachusetts defined benefit pension plan that provides retirement, disability and survivor benefits to over 300 retired and 500 active employees within the Town of Belmont. The Belmont Retirement System operates as a qualified plan under section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code, and is governed by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 32, which sets forth the benefits, contribution requirements, accounting, investment and funds structure for all Massachusetts retirement systems.
